Mary Bahr emerging from a giant hollow New Zealand Beech

M Bahr emerging from a Hobbit Tree

M Bahr was born in Orlando, Florida. She grew up on the northeast side of Orlando on and in a lake which was mostly wilderness with bald eagles roosting in trees outside the breakfast table window and panthers roaming the groves next door. Her father was an outdoorsman who taught her to fish, canoe, and sail Florida's waters. Her mother was a school teacher who provided an abundance of books and ideas at home. Her only brother roamed the woods and waters with her and grew to become an expert automobile mechanic.
M Bahr became a science teacher who loved her students and science and on retirement decided to write children's science books and articles to make the sometimes hard to understand subject easier and more fun. Just like she had done for many years in her hands-on science classroom.

About My Book: The Scientific Method and Automobile Repair

The Scientific Method and Automobile Repair takes you on a journey through time and space to meet some of the amazing people, from Archimedes to Darwin, who have contributed to how modern science has changed our daily lives and the way we look at the world.

Although you will encounter some fascinating scientific facts in The scientific Method and Automobile Repair, it is not about what we know. Rather it is about how we know what we know. Its purpose is to tell the story of how scientists have arrived at the fact and theory that comprise the body of knowledge we think of as science today. And in telling those stories to illustrate how science is done today and how and where that process came from in time and space.
